fiiting roof bars on the roof rails of a vec estate 2004

hi guys,

i have a question about fiiting the roof bars on the rails of a vec 2004 estate. do i have to use the excisting fixing points (3) or does it make no difference where i fix the bars on the rails.

I just bought a hapro roof box and the distance between the roof bars must min 63 and max 93 cm. i can imagine that the larger the distance between the bars, the more stabile the roof box is fitted. or am i wrong?

for safety reasons you should keep them at the marks.. also due to the weight distributuion on the car.
