Default Stiff power steering after 10 mins of driving

Hey all, I have a 54 vectra CDTi and after about 10mins fo driving it seems to develop stiff power steering. When you start it up and drive around for about 10mins it's totally fine but after that it gradually stiffens up until it feels about half the pressure is being used. It won't go back to normal until a good couple of hours after it's been turned off. I'm guessing the pump. Any ideas or any one had this before?

    Thanks!

Yeap fluid is at a good level and still nice and green. Is it only Vauxhall who can replace pumps as they have to be coded to the car? or can an independent mechanic do it then take the car to Vaux and get it coded then. Hope this is possible as I don't want to fork out of dealer prices! Thanks

which is why the lights dim when you turn the wheel at low revs!

Yeap it does that aswell. Drove it for a longer period last night over an hour and it just seems to get worse at after 45mins of driving. Gonna have to bit the bullet I think and get itlooked at. If you supply a pump will Vaux fit it as I have found Brand new ones on the net for £290 and have read on hear Vaux charge nearly £500 for the pump! Surely Not!!?

UPDATE: Had the car looked at by Vx. They said it was the track rod ends had worn and also needed new steering arms as this was causing the problem and nothing else could be found wrong. Had all this done and guess what?! The problem still exists. I'm thinking now it's gotta be the pump or the rack thats at fault. Have seen re-con racks on Ebay for £116 but I'm worried about getting a new pump as have read it needs to be coded to the car. Does this mean it won't work at all once fitted or it'll just flag up the yellow wheel icon on the dash? I have a local mechanic who said he'll do it for me as Vx want to charge a fortune for this job! Any one had this done outside Vx??

Ive heard some say that their new pump worked fine with no tech2 coding, ect but I believe, they are coded as a rule.
