    Default Shampoo advice

Hey. I've used some Collinite 476s wax on my car after a good wash, but it was still showing up all the swirls on the paint. It's a Sapphire Black '06 Sri and was defo a company car before I bought it but I didn't help myself at all by using Turtlewax shampoo with wax in it before applying the Collinite. I've now purchased some of that Poorboys Black Hole Show Glaze stuff but I need to know a good shampoo that isn't a wash/wax stuff. Maybe something that sort of strips the old wax off?! Need some advice!

If you want something to strip the wax off try this http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/washin.../prod_345.html use plenty of it and it will remove any old wax or sealant

Meguiars do a 3 stage process but in your case to remove previous coating's just use stage 1, can be bought form halfords

if the paint has a lot off swirls then it would be better to machine polish it first then it would bee just the up keep .you got put some auto glym polish on first as this has fillers that will fill the swirls then put the colli on top .khalid

Cheers for the advice guys, decided to go for the Meguiars Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner Step 1 stuff, ordered a bottle off of eBay just there for about £7. I'll blast that on first then fire on some of that poorboys black hole, then wax with the Collinite - see if that sorts out the swirls! Cheers again for the tips!

The megs might not get rid of all the swirls depends on how bad swirls are and how its applied ( by hand or machine ) but should remove all existing wax and clean paint ready for re-polish and wax.

Yep, i'll echo what other members have said in that if you have swirl marks, then the only way to remove them is with a polisher. Recently used one on my sapphire black Vectra and made a huge difference.

If an electric polisher is not an option, i highly, highly recommend THIS. Used it the end of last year before I had my polisher and the results were fantastic. Gave an amazing shine and removed a lot of holograms and blemishes i had in the paint.
