Default VXR bumper fitted - now I have a hole...?

    Ok, quick one this.

I fitted my VXR bumper a couple of months ago, replacing a standard Signum bumper which had the Irmscher lip spoiler on it. The engine is the 3.0 diesel, but I don't know if the undertray is different...

Once fitted, I found I had a gap underneath the foglights between the bumper and the undertray, as you should be able to tell here:

My first thought was that the different engines have differnt undertrays, but I know of a 1.9 Vectra Estate with the VXR bumper fitted with no such issues, so I'm utterly confused. As you can imagine, this can be a bit of an issue when it comes to wet weather and spray getting in to the engine bay and around the aux belt etc, not to mention the fog light electrics...

    Anyone any thoughts...?

The under trays are all the same. They are only on diesel cars. The VXr do not have an under tray so the bumper is a diffrent mould to normal bumpers so the undertray will not fit correctly at the front.

I asked Big Pete about this and he said that he didn't have this issue with his 1.9 estate, which is why I'm so confused...

i wouldn't worry too much. older cars don't have undertrays.... they don't seize up or suffer electrical failures. it's a modern luxury for the engine bay!

The 1.9 and V6 diesel undertrays are not the same design because the V6 has a bigger sump etc . Only reason they are fitted to the diesels is for sound proofing really . The VXR doesnt have one at all and think this is to aid cooling as the engine bay get's a lot hotter than diesels
