    Default Clicking Gear Knob

The gear knob has started with an anoying click on my 56 Signum, as you are changing gears it presses down very slightly and springs back up clicking on both the downward and upward motion. It is only the knob on the gear stick thats moving and clicking, everything else seems good. Anyone else had this??

How do you remove the knob to investigate further is it just a case of unscrewing it from the stick??

    Cheers.
    Ste

I've got this on mine mate. The knob itself needs a hammer underneath to release it as it appears to be an interference fit. Best bet is to go on eBay and find the whole assembly including the gaitor and mechanism. If you lift up the gaitor on yours, you'll see 4 torx bolts the hold the whole thing in place. Remove these and the two ball joints and the whole thing comes out. Takes about 5 minutes to do...

Yes mate, they're all the same as far as I'm aware. 4 torx bolts, the bit white plastic joint that control the forward and rear movement, then the small ball joint at the bottom that contorls left and right movement. That's all there is to it...

Just wait till your knob falls off - then wack it back on with a bit of wood and a smeer of araldite on the shaft.

Did this last year, and been fine ever since
