    Default swirl bar

Blimey mate where have you been!!
There are a thousand mods in place by now!
Look in the "how to section" and you will find my fix for the linkage coming off.will cost you all of a quid and a little time!

    Default manifold mod

Well yes and no! I did 6k miles with the mod in place and it worked just fine, but it was and is only a temp job as it should be persued with VX as its a known design fault, this I did after the 6k and with the car on 82k VX offered and which I gladly accepted 80% of the cost, so got new manifold for I think about £135 quid if i remember correctly, do the mod and smile that you have saved about £800 but if you can get on the VX case big style!

    regards

    Pete

    Default manifold

    Hi Robert,
I walked into my local VX dealer Pentagon in Sheffield after doing many rounds with numerous dealers who when I showed them the linkage all said "whats that". soon became apparent that this wasnt available as a replacement part which remains a complete joke!
anyway slapped the knackered linkage on the desk in front of the bod and said this should be on my inlet manifold and as its on your desk it obviously aint where it should be!
So to be fair to the dealer they put it through to VX bomber command on what I think was a customer complaint or some other type of enquiry and to my astonishment they offered me 80% of the cost without me saying a damn thing! I had no contact whatsoever with VX other than the dealer, dealer tried to get me to pay for a diagnostic to which I said dont you think I have diagnosed this already as the problem is on the desk in front of you! soon retracted that they did!
I have been a very loyal VX driver for a good number of years now and that may have had a bearing on it, but to answer your question I put no pressure on VX at all and 80% was offered by them which still suprises me to this day, may be the fact that I told the dealer that it was a known design fault (which it is, why change it if it way ok?) had some bearing who knows.
If you have the problem go after VX big style, they cannot deny it has not been a problem, it is even mentioned on honest john web site.
use my case if you need to.
The fact remains that my manifold was replaced on my siggy on 82K miles with me paying only 20% of the cost.

    best of luck
