Is there any way of appealing to this mate, surely you have evidence in the form of witnesses (medics that tended to you) etc...?

It gets me so mad when I hear things like this

It was your fault i dont understand what you argueing about..No cars backend will come out if your doing the speed you should be..You should have been charged with dangerous driving..You put the focus driving in a very very dangerous situation that could have taken his/her life

Sorry mate but saying "no cars backend will come out if you're doing the speed you should be" doesn't really stand well? What speed should you be doing round a bend?

If you recall his post "theres a sharp bend just outside of market weighton near were i live on the a1034 i was headin towards market weighton i slowed down for the corner and about half way round backend decided it didnt want to stay were it was....".

The reason why I am defending Slick is because I've been there (not actually crashed the car). A few years ago was going round a corner nice and steady because I can see that there is ice on the road (and when I say nice and steady I mean about 20-30mph instead of the usual 50mph) and the back end just went very slowly. There is nothing you can do about it...cars are not designed to drive on ice...

Likewise, hindsights a wonderful thing, but if you arn't expecting black ice, it's going to catch you out.

I came across a car on its side in the middle of the road so rather than sit and wait for it to be cleared, I did a 3 point turn and headed back the way i'd come, down a slight incline with a couple of gentle cureves.

turned out that the whole of the other side of the road was black ice and even doing just 5-10 miles an hour, the car was snaking all over the place with the back end trying to get ahead of the front!!!

Never been so scared in all my life thinking i was going to end up in a ditch or side swipe someone. Police closed the road 30 minutes later after 7 more people DID come off the road

Cars aren't designed to drive on at 20 -30mph on ice - if I can see ice on the road I wouldn't be doing that speed on a straight road never mind round a corner

I expect it maybe because there was ice on your window still that they've charged you.
