Question Springs - Irmscher or Eibach?

I have just had to replace my rear shocks.. Bought a pair of Bilstein B4 after reading the threads on here..

I also read about the infamous busting springs.. I know vx will now replace them for free if they snap etc (as vx have secretly secretly extended the warranty on them to 60k or 10 years, see http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...=42800&page=43), however i do not want to wait for them to break and have them replaced with more crappy vx springs.. (once had springs fail on my old veccy B, not nice)

I am going to replace the springs with aftermarket jobs and the options I am considering are Eibach Pro Kit or an Irmscher spring kit (Part No:. i 3403016), both kits lower the car by 30mm. I wrote to Irmscher and asked if they would fit my chassis etc and be compatible with my Bilstein B4 shocks. They replied saying:

If they're the original Vauxhall ones and your chassis weight falls in the bracket detailed in the description then they'll fit no problem.

If they are non-original uprated ones then I'm afraid not. Our springs are onyl designed for the Vauxhall originals.

    Regards

    Irmscher UK Ltd

Now my questions is, what is the experience of the guys on here regarding this, I cannot see their being an issue, a few guys i have chatted with seem to think its Irmscher trying to get people to buy only vx shocks rather than better quality aftermarket shocks.. If both manufacturers springs are uprated and lower the car the same amount and Eibachs are fine with Bilstein shocks then surely Irmscher springs must be equally as compatible?

    Your opinions please...

i think the b4's are OE replacement, the b6 and above are the uprated ones so you should be ok.
if not im sure someone with more knowledge will be along soon and shoot me down in flames.

Just go for the Eibachs, you'll have no issues what so ever, Irmscher your paying for the name.

I sell plenty of Bilstein/Eibach set ups.

Is that true you can get VX springs replaced under 60k and/or 10 years? My car's got 50k on the clock and is 52 plate, could still get this done

i did a bit of reseach on these before purchasing the b6'

the b4's are oem standard replacement - but better ride quality
you could pay the extra and go for irmscher - but the eibach pro kit WILL and does do the job very well and are "tuned" by eibach for each vehicle

save some pennies and go for the eibachs

hmm in summation its what i thought... am still tempted by the irmscher jobbies as they are red, the eibachs are black.. I know its alot to pay for a different colour and a name but they do look good, dunno if they can be seen though especially when you consider they car will be 30mm lower..

@Daniialj32 you had best the that thread i linked to in post 1, its an eye opener but the news gets better towards the end.. i think vx will still make it tricky as they are not admitting fault, but if you don't ask you don't get....
