If the swirl rail has come off your car, can this cause any more damage to the car if you carry on driving it like this? as i dont have the £650 to fix it right at this moment in time.

Would it not be worth you doing the tap washer fix in the meantime, just out of precaution?

Anyone have a picture of this swirl bar (in situ on the engine)? I've always wondered what you diesel drivers are referring to when you talk about it.
I did mine yesterday using the quick fix, what does the swirl bar actually do? is it supposed to move when the engine is running or only at certain times? thx.
It opens and shuts the 4 swirl valves that help to improve performance at certain rpm

i aint that good to do a repair like that haha, i gues il just leave it till i got the pennies to fix it properly, so does anyone know if it will actually damage the engine or anything being broke off?
id also like to no about this how do u no it is broken? and do you get them on 2.0dti's?
am on the same boat as u mate, running with it broken but cant afford to fix it esp when car still runs fine in the 1st place. dont think i would be able to fix mine, theres a business idea for someone on here lol mobile swirl bar fixer!! u would certainly have plenty of work by the sounds of it
