Default Fiat EGR gaskets fitted now i have problems!

Guys i started a thread a while back when i fitted the fiat EGR gaskets they have been on for around 8000 miles,i picked the car up from the body shop today as i pulled out of the car park i noticed that there was no power whatsoever below 2000rpm its actually dangerously slow when pulling off from a standstill!Im gonna take the egr off and have a look tommoz i checked the swirl flaps linkage rod and its still on and working so hopefully its nothing major! Also been running on v power diesel scince i cleaned everything and put the gaskets on so it looks like these fiat parts may not be as good as we thought?Anybody else had issues after the fiat parts were fitted?

what were you having done, have they been in the engine bay at all?

If so check the front on the engine for a little tube, they may have knocked it off pop back on and then test

You obviously drove to the bodyshop ok, problem when you pick it up
Conclusion ,it must be something that body shop have done, ie knocked a hose or wire off!!

I had the same dangerous lack of power below 2k rpm on my dads CDTI 150. Turned out to be the EGR Valve, and the one that was fitted was a brand new one, so I went back to the old one and its been fine since. Go EGR valve first. DOubt the gaskets would cause that problem as there are loads of users on here who now have them.
Let us know how you get on.

Stupid thing is, when there is a lack of power, the ECU doesnt see this as a problem, yet when the EGR valve is scuppered it does, IMHO the lack of power is the EGR so im stumped as to why it doesnt show the EML for this!

I've had mine fitted since October time (about 5-10,000 miles now) no problems that I can tell. Might take the EGR valve apart and give it a good clean.

Remeber the Fiat gasket is designed to hold the crap and sludge back in the EGR valve itself and protect the inlet manifold. This means that the EGR valve will need to be cleaned on a regular basis. To be honest I would rather do this or have to replace the EGR valve every now and again than replace the inlet manifold again

    Good luck with it

I have the same issue and has nearly cost me the back end of my car a couple of times.

Fault diagnosed as Air leak, from the intercooler. ******* great hole in the front of it. It struggles to build boost pressure. Also air leaking from the swirls on the inlet manifold.

Thats what I was thinking, maybe the EGR just needs a clean.

Cheers for the input guys heres a quick update for yous.

Started the car this morning and drove up to the workshop and the car was running perfect no loss of power whatsoever????.

Anyway i have removed the EGR and boost sensor and gave them a clean anyway and i must say that there is alot less crud in the EGR with the fiat gaskets fitted, the boost sensor was cleaner aswell so im wondering if this is due to the v power diesel or if its just that its only been about 8k since the last time i cleaned it.Checked the swirl bar operation and its fine ie all four are moving together(thank god for that!).

The body shop have had the engine bay open but i cant see anything out of place i guess it could be the third injector harness issue im not convinced its a split hose now as it wouldnt be running bad one day and not the other.

There was no EML on when there was definatley a problem wich i agree is a poor show on vxs part.
