Default How do I reset EMS light ?

Quick question-instead of waiting X amount of trouble free starts to clear the EMS light, can't I remove the connectors on the battery terminals and leave them off for an hour or so ? If so, do I need to remove both, or just the red terminal ?

I believe disconnecting the battery for at least an hour does indeed reset the engine ECU and thus extinguish the EML. Disconnecting one terminal does the job perfectly well.... choice of colour is entirely up to you.

You only have to hope the original cause of the EML doesn't recur or you'll be doing the same thing over and over until you fix the cause instead of the symptom.

It may turn the light off, it may not. It depends on the fault and EMS system.

I would personally disconnect the neg - best practice.
