RSPCA say what?

Just seen news, RSPCA saying they will no longer take stray or dogs plain not wanted, only injured or abused.
Given they have a name in this area for viewing homes and nit picking, looking for any excuse to order you to hand your pet over, ie pets "whose needs aren't being met" - by their judgement not walked enough, not got a big enough bed, perfectly healthy and happy otherwise, but will turn away animals that will be thrown out on the streets and become a hazard?
Is this legal according to their charter? Seems a bit odd to me

I guess they only have so much money to feed a limited number of animals

I give money every month by direct debit. I'm starting to feel that two thirds is spent on annoying tosspots ringing me all hours of the day and night trying to get me to give more and the last third sending me letters trying to get more!

I often feel like telling them to sling it as I'm sure it's more a money making machine first and actually helping animals is getting further and further down the list IMHO...

dont start about pets lol i took the mut king charles to the vets the other day cos she kept scrating ohh 5 mins later a bill for £117 omg lol ...... but yeah grumpy thats wrong i agree

They do carry out some good work, but they do have some arrogant power mad ******s - I've met some of them!

They drive me mad, the wife and I went to a shelter to try and get a dog, seen a couple that seemed to warm to us and enquired. When the cost of 'saving' a dog got to £145 we gasped ! Turned around and left without a dog.

i put my cats on the list to be rehomed with the cats protection league back in september last year. i was told there was a waiting list of 2 to 3 months, not their fault, so many cats being abandoned etc due to the recession. i have been lucky & found a very good cattery who look after them while im away for work every other week & i have now decided to keep them. to be honest they have made the breakup with my ex a whole lot easier to deal with as i have had 2 little lives to concentrate on as well as my own life. couldnt part with them now.

my ex & i got a superb border collie from the rspca, but she had to be rehomed when we split, but did it through friends as we didnt want the dog to go through the stress of the rspca a 3rd time!

as for prices, youll pay a similar amount, or maybe alot more, for a puppy, but at least you wont have to house train it!
