Default Signum 1.9CDTI Low power under 2000 RPM

Recently started getting low power on my signum 1.9 CDTI (150) below 2000 RPM then when the turbo kicks it it's off like a rocket.

Read on a few forums that it's most likley the EGR valve so over the weekend I took it off and gave it a good clean up but is still no better.

I would go and get the Diagnostics done but like a fool I took the battery off and reset the ECU yesterday and now the EML doesn't come on anymore so I assume I have cleared the fault codes out of the ECU.

Any advice on what else this could be? do you think I should buy a new EGR valve and see if that fixes the issue?

    Any advice is much appreciated.

Did you fully strip down the EGR to clean, i.e. the solenoid side too..?

Alot of times is the solenoid side that sticks which causes the low down power problem, just cleaning the inlet side could not be enough.

Failing this of course, have you checked your swirl rod is still attached..??

(3rd and 4th pics show the rod).

No I only cleaned the metal side.

I have just found the "how 2" which shows how to clean the solanoid which i'll try this afternoon and also check the swirl thingy when I do this.

Do you mean the spring inside the metal side (the actual valve) then yes it did.

The little pin that pushes out of the solenoid was pretty much flush with the metal flange, is this correct when the valve is not in use? I'm just hoping that it's the solenoid and not the swirl rail as I hear you need a new manifold to replace the swirl rail.

Try to repair the swirl bar it usually works and lasts for some time, i also read from your post that you said that the little pin the comes out from the solenoid was nearly flush! NOT correct!! it should be out and very free, will post pic, don't forget the hole in the manifold will want cleaning also, and give the boost sensor a good clean!.
