Radio codes

Hi All

My wife has a 51 reg fiat punto and we have had a problem with the battery dieing. Naturally with the power being off for a while the radio asks for a code to be put in. Thing is when she bought the car she wasnt given a code for the radio. Is there anyway we can get the code without having to take it to a garage who will charge us an arm and a leg?
