Following on from this thread, today i managed to remove the caliper and strip it down, cleaned piston and put it back correctly, refit it to car and fitted new rear pads, bled complete system 3 times and happy with a job well done................
Well not really, the dustcap had perished and with all the heat the caliper had produced it had adhered itself to the caliper,so couldn't reuse it,so on the look out for a new seal kit and another weekend i'll strip it all down again and give the caliper an overhaul
Just to let everyone know, the handbrake is a ****** to remove from the caliper, but with alot of wd40 it does eventually come out Also if you haven't checked your rear brakes in the last 20k then do it now, mine were replaced at 72k,i've now done 113k,so a little over due all in all not a bad job but made it even worse with hail, sleet and snow i had today and temperature didn't get over 3 degrees
