    Default engine temp help needed

looks like you may need a new thermostat. I had the same problem on my 1.9 150. New thermostat and housing from vx was 43.00 +vat. Fitting was quite straight forward. After removing battery and tray access to the two bolts is good.

Common 'normal' temp seems to be roughly 1/3 up the gauge - somewhere around the 85 mark I think. Despite diesels always running cold anyway, it sounds like you might well have a stuck open thermostat.
I'm sure one of your fellow diesel drivers will be along shortly with a slightly better idea though.

Without doubt,,,thermostat. Mine wasnt moving at all off zero and the heater took forever to get warm. New stat fitted, reads right around 85 and heater toasty again. Mine is a cdti 120, pig of a job, bout two hours, damn egr cooler is in the way along with other pipes, but with abit of fiddling and patience stat comes out.
