What's the idleing RPM ?
I'd say 800 to 850 but the needle is moving up and down slightly when the engine is idleing lumpy . What s the purpose of a vacuum pump exactly ? And would it have any affect on idling lumpy at all
Vacuum Pump is for your brake servo, in the dark and distant past with petrol carbureter engines you just used to tap off the vacuum from the inlet manifold, can't easily do that with modern engines so they use the same technique the diesel fraternity have always had in the shape of a dedicated vauum pump.

Sorry only gave you half an answer, I believe the vacuum pump also operates various solenoids, so I suppose it is possible that a faulty pump may cause some other symptoms, how do your brakes feel when you apply them hard ?

Hi mate, you reckon you could source me a wiring diagram for the ecu for that engine z20net?
