    Default Speaker upgrade time! What to get??

    right guys i want to sort out the speakers in the car because at some point im going to blow them and i hate the rattle they make after . need something with abit more poke really abit base and sound clear at the same time.

    also what are the speaker sizes to??

    if any one has done this then suggestions would be a help.

    I've been thinking about doing this for some time too mate. Could do with knowing, also can I install a bass and amp with my original CD70?

    (don't mean to hi-jack the thread mate )

    front 6.5inch (17cm) rear 5.25inch (13.5cm)

    if you look at my 55th post in this thread you can see the speakers i bought, i could only find vec b adaptors so i bought them and they failed on the door card the glove box wouldnt open properly either. so i had to make them out of mdf a bit thinner. now all good sounds better. the speakers i got were proper component speakers with tweeters and crossovers going to do a proper install in the summer.

    nah mate thats fine i got a cd70 to was thing about a amp and sub but might have to buy a new cd player. dont know if any 1 else has done it tho

    Don't know if it's different on different models, but my preface SXi was 6.5's in both front and rear, I upgraded all mine to Alpine DD Drive components and used the same models in the fronts and rears. Pics in my ICE thread.

    Sound wise, although the Vauxhall speakers are quite good for factory speakers the difference is like chalk and cheese even if you don't amp them up.

    sorry my mistake i have only had the fronts out the rears looked a lot smaller from the outside.. its a good job i didn't buy 5.25 for the rear then cheers ian..
