manifold help
going to do the swirl valve repair today and tried to get the bar out but i cant seem to get it out as the fuel rail is in the way!
did everyone else take the fuel rail off to get at the bar or did you get it out another way?
is it ok to take the fuel rail off?

Hi if you are talking about the cdti 150 /1.9cc engine i did NOT remove any thing the bar will come out its a bit tight
I think its more to the right of the manifold that i got mine out
You dont need to bend the bar
Have you got the right tap washers [ The thin ones ] 9/16 x5/32 x3/32 code wb521Qv2 that's B&Q
cheers just got it out and yeh i have some washers to glue onto it!
thing is i knw the third swirl valve wont be moving freely as this is the actuated one but only 2 of the other three move freely! one is quite solid! is this a problem?

managed to fix the seized swirl valve with a mixture of a few cans of wd40 and some light taps with the engine on to soak in the wd40.
i have also fixed the actuator bar but not fitted yet but even just freeing up the swirl valve has made the world of difference.
how is the actuated swirl valve supposed to move i.e. is it supposed to spin round or just vibrate from side to side?
When the bar is on and you rev the engine the bar moves to the left looking down on it or at least mine dose
