Default smoking when accelerating 1.9 CDTI (120)

    hi guys

only had our vec c a few days, it seems to smoke alot when you put your foot down on the accelerator, it went in today for a service, had new filters, new oil and 3 of the 4 glow plugs were duff so changed all four.

when i put my foot down and the revs build up it starts to smoke a fair bit and smells like dirty diesel.

it had a spanner light on so i got the codes read but it said there was nothing wrong and the light went out.

anyone know what could be causing the smoke?

its also got a rumbling at around 3000rpm again when foot is flat to the floor, if you slowly build up the speed it doesnt happen, is this likely to be a bearing of some kind?

    any help would be great.

    thanks

if it's only smoking on boost then you could have a split boost hose, loose clips, cracked intercooler or worst case duff turbo... best thing is to get someone to hold the revs while you have a good look & feel at all the hoses, it will be easy enough to spot as you will hear the air escape.

hi bud, what kind of noise would it make? as it makes a little bit of a whistle around 3000rpm just as it comes on boost, could that be a split hose?

i lost my rag with it today, i cleaned the boost sensor and did the airbox mod, and it seemed to be ok, i drove to a shop and as i was coming back i noticed it was smoking under the bonnet, i couldnt immediatly pull over so carried on about half a mile, pulled in and opened the bonnet and it was peeing diesel out the top of the fuel filter, i lost about half a tank in total. wasnt happy.

so i had to sort that out then steam clean all the diesel off the engine bay, car absolutely reaks now

plus its still smoking and its rumbling at about 3000rpm when my foots planted, only does it on full throttle, doesnt do it at half!

its going to a vaux tech next weekend to be hooked up to a diagnostic machine, and hes going to give it a good once over for me to see if he can suss it out.

i love the look of the car but am fast loosing my patience with it, i think i bought a lemon and feel a bit gutted about it

is it just white smoke bud? it only bothers me that ill be smogging all the people following behind me

hopfully the tech will point us in the right direction, father in law reckons it could be a gear box mount or clutch issue. just want to get to the bottom of it and get it running right

mine is black smoke which is unburnt fuel but it is only when you give some hokey cokey which i would say that most diesels will have but if
yours is white smoke it will not be that maybe split hose somwhere like someone has already said trouble is these days too many things can cause the same problem.
