I wouldnt bother with a secondary alarm system. The only way you can steal a car made within the last 10 years or so is with the keys or to drag it on to a low loader.

Thats why these days all the car theives resort to car jacking and house breaking.........they need the key.

Save your money for some mods.

Basically the engine ECU goes into software lock and requires the code in the key to run. Without the engine will not run as it has no management.

Apart from stealing the keys there are two ways to get round it that I know of. Theives can crack it with a laptop, and the right equipment but it takes hours and is expensive. Anyone with the tools, equipment and knowledge for this will not be stealing a vectra!

Secondly theives get there own ecu and key and replacement them in your car to start it. I doubt that could really bee doen on the vectra though as I believe you would need to replace the dials, engiine ecu and the cim thingy.... ANd they would need to be from the right model/engine car.

Really it is too much effort to do either way, relistically if you are unlucky enough they will steel your keys or car jack you...
