Default EGR cleaning on 1.9cdti 120

Have a day off tomorro and i thought i would spend it cleaning the egr valve on my cdti 120, car has 74k on it and the valve isnt causing so should i still go ahead and give it a clean? Does anyone have a guide to cleaning one on a 120bhp? Iv only ever een guides on the 150.

    Thanks

Just follow the guide for the 150. Removal is slightly different (but pretty much common sense), cleaning is exactly the same.

i found it kinda akward to remove the egr on the 120. nothing that put me off doing it, just need to take yer time a wee bit. especially on the allen bolts on the underside.

get a couple of gaskets prior to doing the job also. mine were pretty bad, the thread of the bolts had chewed them a bit so i took a walk to local stealers to pick up some new ones.

for the sake of a couple of quid get some beforehand.

if theres no problem with it then its really up to you if its worth doing a preventative clean or not.

    just my 2p
