    Default Another turbo

What do yo think about putting one more turbo in to the 1.9 cdti engine? Will it incrase a power or make a car lumpy? I wont do it myself. Just was thinking how it will work with twin turbo

Physically adding an extra turbo would be the easy part. I imagine getting the engine to work efficiently with 2 turbos would require wholesale changes to the engine management system. VX/Opel dropped the twin-turbo 1.9CDTI, but Saab use it in the 9-3. There is talk of a planned twin-turbo 2.0CDTI for the Insignia.

Yeah I believe mav was saying the CDTTi for the Insignia is meant to be out late this year or early next year. I'd definitly test-drive one as it sounds like a mean engine.

The management can't handle two turbo's in the sequential form like in the Saab, let alone two turbos of the same size. Not even worth going there.

Fitting the Saab 9-3 TTiD engine into a Vectra would be pretty straight forward. The plumbing, and mechanical fitting simple. The loom for the management system is also pretty easy to connect up to the Vectra's body loom and this would mean the canbus systems are all connected up correctly.

The problem then is getting the Saab engine ECU to talk to the Vectra BCM and all the other ECU's in the system.

If you could get the can bus coding from Saab/VX then it would all programme up OK and it would work. But getting this coding is near on impossible as I have found out recently as I have been looking at this conversion.

The Vauxhall 2.0 Twin Turbo diesel is out this August in the new Astra 5dr GSi. 190PS and 295lb/ft.

Insignia 2.0 twin turbo diesel will be here mid 2011 but with a little more power and torque than the Astra.
