    Default No-one likes CRACK!!

I was on the M1 last night and following a lorry when I was showered me in stones and one of the little *******'s cracked my screen!!!!

The insurance company only deal with Auto-windscreens, who use PILKINGTON screens not GM ones.

I know that Pilkington are standard fitment on BMW's and Merc's, but do you think I should stamp my feet with the insurance company and insist I use a company that fits genuine ones?

Forget the badge in the corner its meaningless. GM screens will be made by somone no better or worse than pilkingtons.

A windscreen is just a laminated piece of glass, there isnt one better or worse than another.

Personally i would be more worried about being confident in the company and fitter doing the job.

A leaking GM screen is far worse than a pilkingtons one fitted correctly.

As above , if autowindscreens are fitting it , the last thing I'd be worried about was the brand of the screen , I'd be more worried about them dive bombing it

As our good friend arkhan78 found out the other day lol

And if you've got auto-wipers and auto-lights make sure they put the sensor back under the windscreen properly, I think there's a dot of gel or something you have to put otherwise the sensor will stop and your wipers and lights will be ****ed.

What's that about removing the wipers? :S

Did you get the Trucks index? Make them pay for it rather then ur excess
Sounds silly but they take liability. A council gardener was in my mates place and while mowing the grass a stone flew out from under the mower and chipped his windscreen.. one of those unlucky things but the council paid for a new one through his insurance.
