    Default Do you know why?

I have an issue with my car...

Just before I stop or when I revers slowly my steering starts to turn on its own - in no particular direction, completely independent of me touching the steering wheel.

I find the steering a tad heavy when driving and when trying to drive in a straight line it wants to drive up onto the curb... WTF ...

    Do you know why?

    Many thanks

Tyre pressure good... Not sure on the tracking - but it had a full service 2 months ago, so tracking should be fine - might double check with local garage...

Does a full service cover tracking? Some places are bad though, sure they track your car, but whether they do a good job or not is a different matter. I took it to some place in Bolton near my old site, and he said he done it, paid him money, was a million times worse. Took it to another place local, and he said it was out by more than a degree! Just gotta make sure you go to a good known place!

having a service wont mean the tracking is ok.... and cars do that to an extent, the tyres tend to follow the road or surface its on, if its pulling over fighting against you then its a tyre issue, do the pressures and/or swap tyres side to side

I'd say it's one of the bushes in the suspension that has gone soft...it could be the track rod ends, the ARB bush or the ARB drop links.

Best thing to do is find a nice flat road and while cruisng hold the steering wheel straight and then let go. If the car pulls off to one side then i'd say it's either tracking or like Jezzy said ubove.

also try it on the other side of the road, the camber in the road can be pretty deceptive at times, I walys think mine pulls to the left, stick on the other side of the road however and it soon pulls to the right.
