    Unhappy Gsi problem ?

Hi I just brought my first Vauxhall and I've dived in the deep end with a 2004 vectra 3.2 V6 Gsi, the car flies and I love it.
However while looking under the bonnet the oil on the dipstick looks clean(checked this before I bought) but under the oil filler cap there is the dreaded mayonnaise.
The car drives Ok no white smoke, does not over heat, please someone tell me it's not a head gasket.
Can't think it's related but the washer bottle keeps losing water.
Any comments, advise or help appreciated
    Cheers Rob.

I would think it depends how much mayo is on the cap.

I've had cars in the past that the oil is fine in the sump but a little bit of mayo was on the cap. Car was pressure checked and sniffed and came back fine. garage put it down to short little journeys meaning the engine wasnt warming up enough to burn off excess water vapour in the air within the engine so leading to condensation and the mayo effect

Solution to your problem - take off the yellow oil filler cap, twist off the oil filler neck, replace yellow cap straight onto the top of the engine.

    Works every time .

Its not a problem, its bacause of the length of the filler, its in the cold air flow and water condenses in there causing mayo. Take the cap off, twist the neck out and put the cap in the hole thats left

    Problem solved
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I was thinking / hoping the same, wiped it clean but the mayo is lining the cap filler tube after a 40 mile drive, however this weather today 7 degrees the car never got fully hot.
    Thank you for reply.

As said above bt GTR1000 best to remove the filler tube and put the yellow cap back in it,s place. I treid many time cleaning out the filler neck. Did in my case of driving did not do the trick. So removing the filler neck was the only option. It did the trick.

Are you saying the car didn't get fully hot after a 40 mile drive, or are they separate drives.
