    Default A Quickie!

Hello, Just a very quick question, sorry I haven't had time to search everything but got the jist of what I need from some research.

A brief intro. Was one of the co founders of VVOC but pulled out over 4 years ago when I sold my Vec B. Now in the market to buy a Vec C and thought this may be more an appropriate site, with the "C" experts.

I've read alot about problems with the CDTi 150 1.9 EGR etc etc, but was there a year when these problems got sorted?? I'm interested in Vec 1.9CDTi 150 Elite http://www.slmvauxhall.co.uk/cgi-bin...&site=slmvauxh

and wondered were the problems "some" have had were sorted with the facelift of the facelifts. 2007.5MY

I have seen how to do this and yep it didn't seem to bad, but having trawled around here, Astrasport and VVOC there seems to be more than this sooting. ie DMF, Waterpump seizures, Inlet Manifolds I wonder was this addressed from Mid 2007 cars??

    Pretty Please

All I need to know are people having the same problems with 2007 - 2009 versions as the owners of 2004 - 2006 versions.

There seems to be alot of info about the CDTi problems but can't seem to dig out wether it was early models or ALL models having them.

I had egr issues with my 07 sporthatch but as above, a quick clean with some £4 carb cleaner and it was back to its best. They do foul fairly quick though, service the valve every 5 - 10,000 miles is my advice. Its a half hour job unless you loose the gaskets ...

It's got 6 months Manufacturers warranty then 6 of Network Q's so I suppose I'm covered for discovering any problems in the first year.

Strange that this car is below Parkers guide price, especially for a NetQ garage.

I just love "toys" and this to have most I'll prob take a look tomorrow, even though it's a 2 1/2 round trip drive.

Matty - the egr valve issue is an ongoing one across multiple manufactuers - poor design really as holes are too small and therefore prone to clogging from carbon build up - which strangely goes hand in hand with the area of the system there fitted to

as above with the EGR, but new designed ones now so should be ok, but you can be safe and fit the fiat gaskets to it and it should never trouble you again.

inlet manifold are now revised so all cars which have had them changed should be ok, as should all the newer cars (not sure which year)

Waterpumps, not heard of any seizing myself.

Wiper linkage - think most newer cars have the newer design anyhow.. newer design have white elbow caps on the connectors i think
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services

    Some great info, many thanks!

The waterpump thing was something I had read that was happening to some Astra SRi CDTi 150's, seizing and causing a cambelt failure, seemed to be happening around 50-60K, resulting in Vxl once again revising their replacement intervals back to 40k (Only what I have read, no expert opinion here)
