knocky, rattle noise

hi guys,
ive been puting up with a noise coming from my driver side front like a knock or something, seems to be when i sumtimes go over bumps, or sometimes on full lock turning slowly.
i know its not a very good description but im just to busy to go to a garage just now so i would rather have an idea what it might be?

it sounds like metal on metal if that helps?
i was thinking some kind of bush? maybe george bush? lol jk.
but seriously its peeing me off.
suggestions?

Likely to be drop links mate, very cheap and dead easy to change yourself.

There are other culprits too, like ARB bushes (usually a crunchy noise though) and lower bushes, but its usually the drop links.

drop links huh? right ok, i need my locknut taken off somehow anyway, so better getting the part and then going to the garage and get them to take the wheel off and fit it for me?

the steering doesnt feel particularly stable either at motorway speeds.
but like you say hopefully the cheaper option.

They are about £35 a pair, and about an hour of your time.
