    Default Now i'm worried

I have a 1.9 150 which had all the usual symptoms of an EGR valve problem so followed to how 2 to clean it, drill out the solenoid etc and figured i'd clean the boost sensor at the same time.
After i had put everything back in place i tried to fire it up to no avail. I kept trying and eventually itsounded as if it was going to start as normal then it would just die. I kept turning it over and after about 15 tries it stayed on.
The problem though is that is was coughing and spluttering away at about 600 revs and sounded like it was about to give up any second and the amount of smoke coming out the exhaust would have been enough to melt the ice caps.
Whenever i press the accelerator absolutely nothing happens so my car is totally undriveable in this state, at least i could drive it before if i hammered it up to 2500 revs.
I really need my car up and running so if anyone can give me some help i'd really appreciate it. Cheers.

Was your EGR completely dry when you put it back on, and is everything connected and tight?

Disconnect the battery for 30 mins or so ? If theres a fault, would this perhaps clear it ?

I used carb cleaner on the EGR to clean it then used some 40+ on the solenoid parts for lubrication. It was all dry on the ooutside when i connected it back up. The solenoid didn't move as freely as i think it should have even after everything though. When i connected both parts of the EGR back together the solenoid was springing against the other part meaning i had to hold them together tightly while putting the 4 torx screws back in, should this have been the case? Would this keep the valve open all the time?

Check you have tightned all the nuts/bolts as I made that daft mistake and thought I ruined the car.

Could be a knackered EGR. Same happened to me at the weekend with the same symptoms. Fitted a new EGR yesterday and it flies now.

Will do Gazza, i'm sure i double checked them all though.
Samdy, cheers for that, maybe i should check my local Vx dealership tomorrow and just see if i can get a new one then. How much did it cost you?
Is it something they'd be likely to have in stock?

I paid £50 for mine on eBay, but I have the 1.9 [120] which is slightly cheaper.
