    Default rumbling over 3000rpm

hi guys, ive just bought a 2004 04 plate 1.9CDTI energy estate (120)
love the car to bits its fantastic, but when i drive it anyhwere and get over 3000rpm it seems to rumble and grumble and you get a vibration through the steering wheel and through the floor.

does anyone know what this might be?

i also have a grinding/scraping noise when going over speedbumps at anything over 3mph.

i had a quick search but couldnt find what i was looking for.

i also think its a bit down on power under 2000rpm, i have a vec B 2.0DTi (99bhp) that seems to pull better and pins you to the seat when you boot it, the estate doesnt do that at all.

any help would be great, thanks in advance

thanks buddy, notice your just up the road in halifax, we live just near lightcliffe VW garage on halifax road

its going in for a service on saturday and tracking and balancing is being done as it has a slight wobble on at speed, im hoping this will cure the noise as its the only thing letting the car down really!

    thanks for the reply

hi bud, forgot about you sorry and thanks

i think i might have some fault because the spanner light (big one on the rev counter??) is on constantly from start up, it doesnt go out.

just been searching on it to see if i could find anything out but just to get the codes read.

dont suppose you know where i can get this done do you bud?

    cheers

Where are you going for the service? if they don't have the kit to read the codes try a place in East Bowling - Richard Henry Motors i have used them many times, they've never charged me for code reading, they are very good but usually very very busy (Evo & Subararu specialist)
