Angry Playing with car - Sending me into Depression...

Just got back after driving round all day trying to get my last locking nut removed, no garages seem to want to touch it and mention the next one on!!

I removed the rears myself yesterday, (car had 2 locking nuts per alloy) front passanger wouldn't budge but mate managed them with an airgun today. drivers side front is still stuck fast and now looks a mess from being smashed to bits and then attempted welding a nut on!!

Gas bottle was running out on the welder so only half hearted attempt so thats why ended up driving around. that Snowie is now no longer markless and all this just so i can paint callipers and fit suspension myself on monday (to save money)...

Also had to buy loads more tools etc as stuff been lent out (as i not had a car to play with in 2 year) and now no one can remember me lending them out...

It would have been £90 wuid to fit the springs and callipers i could live without, now its looking like way over that with tools purchased and going to have to get the nut drilled out and alloy refurbed...

Not to mention i fitted the rear interior light other months and now my front one has gone crazy...

Starting to think its not as much fun getting your hands dirty and palying with cars... maybe i'm just getting old and mourngy

Could you get an air chisel on the nut? We've done that in the body shop when the customer broke the locking nut key off.

No-one mentioned that way, but one said they'd chisel it out but couldn't garauntee to smash the alloy to bits...

Looks like it's going to have to be drilled out...

Once done and lowered i'm not touching car again, it can stay mod free from now on mood i'm in...

Vx in Horsforth did my first set for free mate, all they did was hammer the old key onto the nut and the soft key metal remolded itself, the hammering also shocked the thread so it came off ok, you've seen the way I removed the second set.

Tried both ways above mate... still would not budge, total mess was the key and now the nut...

Gonna call this place tomo as local

    http://www.alloyrepairuk.co.uk/locki...20removal.html

And if all else fails will go to Dynomec direct as its only Castleford, heard they'll use there kit to do full set for £20, so 1 nut should be a bargain... Mate still needs all 4 of his off...
