Default Lowering Springs on Facelift CDTi 150 Elite

    Hi All,

This is all getting a bit too much for my simple mind to work out.. I have a set of Irmy springs that I was going to put on my Vec-C pre-facelift GSi. As I never got round to it and am selling the GSI and now have a facelift Elite I'm wondering if I can save a few quid and fit them onto the new motor (it has 19" Snowflakes on it and sits higher than a JCB so needs to drop a good 3cm to look sensible )

The Irmy code is 34.03.011 for the front which I think is 1060Kg to 1130Kg
The Irmy code is 34.04.001 for the back which I think is 980Kg on the rear axle

If I understand the label on the door pillar correctly the front is 1065Kg and 0985Kg on the back so in theory weight is not a problem?!

Question now is will they fit?! Part numbers listed for Vec (non-Sport) do not match so I'm thinking not but thought I'd ask before splashing out on something that does or spending ages trying and cocking it up.

    Ideas gratefully recieved

How much are they a drop from standard, the only issue I think you will have is that the sports suspension is a shorter shock than the elite one and there might be an issue with the shock operation but I think the springs will fit just the shockers might not be appropriate.

No idea on how much they lower... The only reference to them (which neilybhoy1888 found for me) is here:

    http://www.irmscher.nl/accessoirepro...06_acc_art.htm

But the pdf linked at the top of that page says nothing about the part number on the (dutch) website, which seems odd to me.

    http://www.irmscher.nl/bestanden/pdf...ra_0704_GB.pdf

I don't want to knacker the shocks so maybe best to fork out for a set of Eibachs I guess - just wanted one last shot at figuring out if these would do the job or not.

Which ones did you get mate? Do you have a pic?

There appears to be two codes on the Eibach website...

    Product Code : E10-65-007-01-22 Quick Code : A58C4
    and
    Product Code : E10-65-007-02-22 Quick Code : A58C5

No idea what the difference is..?

I am not saying they won't work but if they list seperate springs for the different suspension then there is a potential issue, lowering springs will go on the shocks but who knows how long they last and Eibachs just list lowering springs don't they, the Irmscher kit is a bit more comprehensive and they should know if anyone does.

I've found (from the forum archives) that they (the irmy ones) are the same as the Eibach ones - exactly the same - according to the to TÜV docs...

    Irmy 34-03-011 and 34-04-001
    http://www.irmscher.de/abe/de/7_34_0...5-37_40-42.pdf

    and

Eibach E10-65-007-02-22 which is the part number (according to LMF) for springs for the 1.9CDTi facelift, they are stamped as 11-65-007-02-VA as can be seen in here:
http://www.koenigseder.at/uploads/tx...Katalog_01.pdf (to get from part to stamp no.)

and if you then check the TÜV spec for that stamp from here:
    http://performance-suspension.eibach...&field=abe_www

...and compare the TÜV spec for each between irmy and eibach, they are identical!

Phew... roll on the weekend, I hope fitting is easier than this! ;-)

If they are a 30mm drop & As the axle weights are compatible you should have no probs with them on the standard shocks... any lower than -30mm & you need to be changing the shocker for a shorter one.

It appears as though they are a 30mm drop, I guess (apart from the TÚV docs which suggest they are comparable) there is no other way of telling without fitting them?!

Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it.

The same PI springs for the GSi 3.2 fit the 2.2DTi and 1.9CDTi's too, so they go on no problem mate - I know a bit late, but a further confirmation.
