This may seem like an odd question but .....

What sort of screen was fitted? Was it tinted and did it have a sunstrip? My screen is totally clear and no sunstrip, my previous Vectra B had both and this is awful in the low winter sun.

I have a chip (not necessarily an MOT failure), but was considering getting the screen replaced anyway on the insurance.

Is that an autowindscreens van ?
I used to fit for them when rac owned them.

OMG LOL - He bombed it , the cheeky t*** didn't even take the wipers and scuttle off !!
All joking aside , that is not good workmanship , I'd expect better from autowindscreens.
It only takes 2 minutes to take the wipers and scuttle off.
But he probably has a manager who is bonus driven , and a slave driver.
Unfortunately this is the way things have gone , you expect a craftsman to do a perfect job on your pride and joy , and someone who is still learning the trade turns up and massacres your car , and rushes , and takes shortcuts to boot , ah well - Rant over

It was exactly like the one previously fitted with a blue sunstrip and dark border....also heat and rain sensor stuff going on.

id be gutted if they fitted a plain one!

I'm getting my windscreen replaced by Autowindscreens on monday afternoon thanks to a nice 6 inch scratch. My current windscreen doesn't have the sun strip but I was hoping to blag one anyways. After asking me about that she asked about rain sensors which I don't have. Is it only the rain sensitive ones that have the sunstrip?

Mine doesn't have the sensor, as someone pointed out at the meet at Lakeside, the windscreen might not be fitted correctly as there was a gap or something?
