    Default oil extractor

Anyone used on on their Veccy?

My sump plug is stuck and rounded. Not sure if I want to risk damaging the sump cause it looks like a right pain to change.

    Got a 1.9 CDTi 150

I rounded off the the edges of the hex on my sump plug as well when I last changed the oil on my cdti 150 (the metal is about as strong as toffee). I was quite amazed to find that a couple of taps on the outer edge of the plug with a small hammer and chisel loosened it easily. If you do this and fit a new plug I would advise that in future you always use a six sided socket rather than a multi point one to remove the plug.

Get a hacksaw and cut a small groove/slot across the sump plug and use a screwdriver to undo it or as above gently tap the slot you cut with a hammer and chisel. I had the same problem as my plug was overtightened and I sheared off the Torx bit in it!

yeah, I tried it with a chisel but still nothing. Might have to drill it and use an extractor. Will definitely be using a 6 sided socket next time.

I even had a ring spanner of a smaller size hammered onto it and it just chewed it as well. Like you say, the metal on the sump plug is really soft
