Might sound a bit daft, and i'm not a genius on cars, but would disabling the EGR valve not decrease MPG, and would you not fail emissions test on MOT?
def not fail emissions as diesels have a smoke test and not emissions on my mondeo i had i had egr valve blanked completly and had decat and passed with flying colours mpg was fine too
back to the question can you disable egr with op com or has it got to be tech 2 also would the stealers do it for you if you ask???
you dont get exhaust gasses back in your inlet manifold which clogs up your manifold and swirl flaps, you have cleaner and cooler air which does not choke your car and less problems with egr sticking and it just runs better with it blanked. its only there to meet euro 3 emissions regs and in my eyes they are a waste of time and cause to much bother when americans are driving around in there big v8s
No gains really mate, unless you really go to town in the intake. The same engine in the US doesn't even have the EGR fitted. If you have a look into your inlet manifold it will be full of oil and soot, combined they really choke the intake up. Eliminating the zorst gassed can only be good. The EGR is only to meet Euro 4 regs from factory, as soon as it leaves the factory its not legally needed.
can any one help lol can you disable the egr valve through op com or does it need to be done by tech 2 at the dealers????
Can you blank the egr valve on the cdti 150 to save any of the hassles of it c**king up ??
