Sounds right. Should fit in the recess of the sump plug (should see the old one when you undo the plug).

To be honest, I don't often change these. They don't distort like the old copper washers.

Why change the oil and filter yourself?
Save £30 and get it done at National Tyres for just £35 (including the correct oil!)

The little one goes on the filter housing socket-thing...where you drain the oil from the filter on the Y30DT. I think lol

My National Tyres wouldnt do the £35 deal, perhaps it varies from place to place.

They should do, but they have the right to increase it to £49 as the engine requires 8 litres
My local Kwik Fit refused, by my local National Tyres has agreed but I use them quite often! ("We'll just put it through as a 1.8 Vectra")

well to be honest i got 10 litres of gm oil(correct grade) for £24.00! from stealers and a bosch filter for £22.00 so unless a garage can do it for less than £46 i will continue changing myself, it easy enough anyway! just wanted to know about the other seal!

usualy the small seal would go on the centre part of the filter housing, where the filter slides over and it slides into the lower housing
