Hi I need some help i have a vectra C 3.2 GSI currently (2004 53) 57K miles, I am thinking about trading in for a vectra VXR.
I canít believe how poverty spec they have made them compared to my GSI, but anyway I really want one with climate control and 19Ē alloys. The big problem is I want an early one pre the car tax increase ie not paying £405 per year tax I only use the car at weekends (use a company van to get to work) I just canít afford to pay this kind of money on tax.
I went to see a couple of cars today over 100 miles each way and i have come home disappointed it is proving impossible to find.
The car I went to see a VXR link below
It looks great from the pictures but listed below are the problems
1. All the wheels are kerbed and 3 of the wheels have cheap tyres nexen i believe and 1-off continental sport
2. The lacquer is peeling off the door mirror covers.
3. The interior is very dirty with mould on the carpets no rips apart from the mats
4. The service history suppose to be full Vauxhall , but no paperwork present and the service book has two stamps from the same dealer itís done 39K and the first stamp has no mileage or date. I would of thought it should of had more than two services in 4.5 years & 39,0000 miles.
The dealer has the VXR for sale @ £9995.00 and he offered me a price of £6000.00 to change. I think the trade in price for my GSI is very good but it is immaculate with full Vauxhall service history. I just donít know if I am being too fussy with the VXR. The Dealer would deal with the alloy wheels being kerbed & the lacquer on the door mirror covers but says thatís it. He has tried to contact the dealer about the service history but the dealer canít help they remember the car.
Do you think I am asking the impossible with what I am after ?
