Either will be fine although if it's high mileage the 10/40 will be better imo & it's what i used in my old dti
130k with full service history but will be doing my own servicing, as I always have done.

10w-40 with those miles.
5w-30 is great if you want to save a bit of fuel, but 10w-40 will be better at keeping the oil where it's supposed to be...in your engine as opposed to out of the exhaust pipe, since it is less likely to weep passed turbo oil seals and valve guides.
10w is just as good as 5w down to -20C and '40' is better than '30' at high engine temps (towing, hard acceleration etc). And I would assume that you are changing it annually, in which case don't waste your money on the long life fully-synth stuff. Semi-synth will do just fine.
