last Saturday i pulled up at home in my van (bout 6ish) and as i parked up i saw a lad walking up toward my van trying car door handles. i watched him for maybe 20 secs or so thinking he was just mucking about but then saw he had a screwdriver so i got out the van and shouted over to him. he looked at me and said 'what' i thought u cheeky little b******, he then crossed the road and vanished into an alley way which backs onto a new block of apartments. Dont know why but i grabbed my car keys and went to find him, sure enough there he was on the car park of said apartments looking through car windows and trying car doors. this time i phoned the local cop shop and told em what was going on, i told em i would try and keep him in sight if they sent someone out sharpish. i wanted to get out and swing for the little sod but didnt fancy him pulling that screwdriver on me. next thing hes trying the door of a car with his screwdriver so i drove over to him and he legged it. Anyhow one week later pulled up tonight in van and guess who i saw? trying the same car doors. .i got out the van and he gave it toes, and so did i. didnt catch him though. dont know if i should ring the cop shop again just to let em know ive seen him again.

report him with a good description. little scrote is going to make a lot of people unhappy screwing cars.

Hell yes, if he's making a habit of it and you see him, don't scare him off, get on the phone and give as much information as you can - colour, build, clothing, screwdriver, accurate location etc etc and make sure that you say the guy is still active and at the scene. If the call handler can tell you there's somebody available to attend, try and stay on the line and feed up-to-date info to them - they can pass it on to the cops who are travelling to you, if the guy is spooked or runs.

Even if it's a day or so late, ring up and pass the information on - the time you saw him, description etc. You never know, if you can give them a good idea of the route this chap has taken, they might be able to locate him on a cctv camera and have a crack at ID'ing him.

It is the sort of job I'd love to go to.

when i saw him last weekend i reported it and gave em a good description, he had the same grey hoodie on tonight as last week thats what made me look at him. i waited for the police to show last week but hed ran off. my plan wasnt to scare him off but to wait for police and keep him in sight, but when i saw him trying to get into a car i thought i better do summat, an officer turned up bout Min's later in an unmarked veccy (it was very nice) he had a look round for the guy but he had done one.

Take a photo of the little scrote, use the flash so he knows what youve done. Get his face on it, give a copy to the police.

I doubt he'll dare come anywhere near your road again....

my experience tells me hes probably feeding a heroin habit, doesnt care who or what sees him, he ll probably pose for the camera too. going to court and getting locked up is a better life for him, he knows it, I watched a youngun mug a sleeping guy on the taxi rank I work from, problem was it was mt mate he was mugging, didnt know what to do! needless to say we caught him about 30 mins later, two months down the line I appeared at court as a witness, when I saw him properly I kinda wondered why I was so nervous, he was an addict, attitude, etc etc, but in the time it had taken to got to court he had been caught for 6 other offences, they gave him 6 months. Heroin is bad s***t and best left well alone. Even the name makes my skin crawl. So be patient, clock him, times dates pics, as much info as you can, pass it to the plod and let them deal with it, replacing your windows can be a costly exercise, whether its your house or your van or car. He doesnt give two hoots what you do to him, whatever you say to him will be like water off a ducks back. Do your duty, with as little involvement as possible. after all we all carry insurance, well most of do anyway premiums will go up in any case, and its not your insurance. honestly, heed this, do not grt involved its not worth it, as I said do your duty as a good citizen and leave the rest to the police
