If it's thick white smoke coming out of the pipe and if you rev it up and it gets thicker could be you turbo blown ££££.......

Have you looked at all the pipes under the bonet and pipes coming of the turbo and the intercooler.

I had this problem once and it proved to be water in the diesel, during dpf regeneration i've seen a big cloud of white smoke.

White smoke does generally point to a water problem, but a hole in one of the turbo hoses can also causes this. if its running fine, generally it wont run properly if a hose has a hole in due to lack of pressure regen pressure into the cyclinder head I think I would put it down to cyclinder head gasket, or cracked cyclinder head. Get it pressure tested, think worst first, check least probem areas first then it can only get better from there on. I hate my vectra today so the worst has happened. A double Whammy for me, so dont worry yet

Although it sounds like water I doubt there'd be a strong smell associated with it if it was!!
