Default Alarm and courtesy light problem please help!

Not a good first post but here hoping, good evening people right I am at my wits end, I have a 54 plate dti estate and up until a few weeks ago it was fine, but then the night of -15 happened and my alarm started to go off, so I bit the bullet at 3am in the morning and went and disconnected the battery so the neighbours could have a peacefull nights sleep, but after reconnecting it, now I get the alarm going off at random times also the courtesy light in the front (it only as the big front courtesy light), that as also stopped working I have checked in the owners manual and in my haynes manual but I am unable to find a fuse/s that effects the courtesy light, the rear boot light works the glove box light works the clock lights work but the courtesy doesn't is there any way the alarm and the courtesy light could be linked seeing that the sensor is in front of the courtesy light any help greatly appreciated, does the system need to reprogrammed or re-activated somehow, do i need to take it to a vauxhall garage or what do you suggest.Forgot to say the courtesy light doesn't work with the button either, i'm in the Preston area Lancashire is there anywhere you suggest which could look at it for me cheaper than the vauxhall garages thankyou in advance

Pop the whole roof console out mate, there all connected to the same PCB on the back if I remember rightly. Also the wiring is in the form of a ribbon cable that runs along the roof, the alarm will have a voltage drop sensor, if you interior light is earthing somewhere then it will set the alarm off.

I think you may be right, took the fitting out today tried the feed with a multimeter that's ok, so it seems the light due to condensation has started to short out on the board somewhere, my mate works for vauxhall and says there is a scrap signum in at the mo so he's going to see if it's the same and borrow it and then I can try it. Better insulation in the roof space would sort it,maybe it was the extreme temperature that caused it, it's a poor design for sure whatever,i'll let you know cheers

May I suggest THIS as you could upgrade at the same time. I think VX charge a similar price. This panel also gives you control of the rear courtesy light if you choose to fit one. I hope you've found the problem, if not you might have to trace the ribbon cable and check the lot.
