    Default thermostat..warm at last..

    finally got round to changing the thermostat and housing in the vec(1.8sxi 54)
    quoted 45quid for the part off stealers, got one from vaux-world 29quid delivered off ebay. delivered next morning.
    hopefully get better mpg now

    The thermostat is a piece that gets forgotten too often or should I say its' importance it's neglected too often.

    took me about half hour,2x torx bolts. no need to drain all coolant off. you will lose a bit when you disconnect the rad pipe but just top up expansion tank when you've finished.
    the stat didn't come with the temp sender but just swap over from the old stat.

    Wish it was that easy on the 19DT engine, two hours to change, darn thing buried, egr cooler and other stuff in the way, still problem fixed heater toasty again and temp gauge reading right.
