Default Can you convince me to buy a HID conversion kit?

As the title says, I've been considering buying the HID Direct kit for a while now, but am yet to be convinced into buying them. My main concerns are the legal implications not that most of you have had issues, and the fact a few people have had the strobing effect etc. I apologise for repeating most other threads, I want to upgrade, but need a bit of encouragement from those of you that have already done it. If I DO upgrade, I'm not sure wether or not to go for 4300k or 6000k, so thought about going inbetween and going for the 5000k set instead. Can you convince me to go for them?? My car is an '06 SRi if that is of any help, I know the kit fits all ('02 on). Thanks guys!! And apologies for yet another HID thread!! Any comments or advise will be well received!!

To be honest amte, it's a safety issue more than anything. You'll be amazed at the difference in light output and wonder why you ever waited...

I fitted headlight washers to mine so it wasn't as obvious to the casual observer that they weren't factory fit xenons, but that's a personal thing...

I had the 6000k kit which is fitted to cars more commonly over onthe continent, and found it was a great mix of white with a hint of blue. Any higher and it's too blue, any lower and you lose the distinctive colour I find. OEM are 4300K. Never got pulled over or stopped at all, and hardly ever used to use my full beams as the dipped lit up the road enough with any trouble...

As my current Signum has the AFL as factory fit, I stuck my old HID kit in my foglights. It's horrendously overexposed, but it shows what they're like...

I've got to agree with Penfold, when there fitted you'll realise how bad the stock set up is. There is the Duncan mod also but combining the 2 may be a bit ott.

The strobing and bulb error is fixed using an additional plugin from ebay, or buying the kit that comes with it built in. no worries there. The car passes MOT with them therefore its Road legal and they are a vast improvement and probably improve general safety on the roads - just make sure they are aligned correctly after fitment
