    rolleyes battery replacement

    i might be replacing my battery on my signum 19cdti shortly and was looking for some advice,after replacement do you have to type a code in or anything like that to get everything working or is it just a straight swap? any advice would be much appreciated,

    Attach a battery charger to the terminals first, then didsconnect the battery,. That way you will keep all ur codes.

    Wont need any coding as the can bus head unit is only programmed to the car and doesnt need re coding after battery changing or going flat..

    You will however have to reprogramme the one touch elecy windows. Fully open, keep finger on open button for approx 5 seconds; then fully close and keep finger on closed button for approx 5 seconds. Repeat for other windows.

    As your car is a 56 plate, the battery should have loads of life left in it though. If it's faulty and the car has been serviced in accordance with VX's policy, and done less than 60,000 miles you should be able to claim on the 3 yr warranty. All VX batteries come with a 3 yr guarantee, even ones you buy over the parts counter.

    If it a 56 plate the 3yr warranty has ran out m8 it 2010!! :-)

    56 reg ran from 01st Sept 06 to 28th Feb 07.

    So in theory it could still have approx 5 weeks warranty left on it if it was registered on the 28th Feb.
