    Wink headlight bulb replacement FACELIFT

after reading horror stories on here about some members having difficulty replacing headlight bulbs on facelifts i took my signum 19cdti down to halfords bought the bulb and asked if it was possible for them to fit it for £5.99 as advertised, expecting them to say no,but was very surprised when the lad came out with me and fitted it within 5 mins, this was the drivers side headlight, job welldone and i would definatley recomend them to anyone having problems

Seems like you were lucky tbh, not only are halfrauds bulbs 3x as much as normal uprated bulbs off ebay but also...

When I first got my old Vectra C 1.8 I needed the bulbs replacing and as I was clueless back then I got the bloke at halfrauds to do it. He pulled out my air intake to the airbox and pushed it to the side so that he could get to the lense cap and then forgot to refit it. Wondered for a week why I had a loss of power... when I popped the bonnet to have a go at the bulb change my self (with a better set of bulbs for half the price) I popped it back on and it went much better after that. Was quite tempted to go in and have a real go at them but I didn't think it was worth it.

the actual bulb price was £9.79 + £5.99 for fitting it which i thought was ok considering some of the stories on the site about how difficult it was to change the headlight bulb, also nothing had to be removed, just lens cover off old bulb replaced with new one and cover back on,cheers steve

yeah just saying that for just shy of £10 for one bulb, if you spent that on ebay you'd have 2 osram nightbreakers, philips bluevisions or xtec whatevers and then you've got £6 to fit it!

and to be fair people are exagerating saying it's a nightmare, you've just got to squeeze if you've got big hands and not worry about a few scratches on your wrist,

    According to the handbook

As the headlight has to be removed, have the bulb on the right changed by a workshop.

    Yeah right so that will be an hours labour @ £70 plus a bulb @ £10 plus VAT @ 20% = £96

surely depends on the engine?... I could change the bulbs in my 04 plate 2.2i direct without bumper removal,.. but not on my 08 CDTI

on facelift, both can be done without removing the headlight. you'll probably shred the back of your hand but it can be done especially the airbox side as airbox is easy to take out if necessary
