    Default CDTI 150 'misfire'

    Hi,
Whilst diesels dont misfire as such, thats how I would describe the symptom.

Happens between 2000 and 2500 revs normally when accelerating gently; worse when going uphill. Otherwise car runs ok.

Full service history, its an 05 pre-facelift with 79K. Has in last 6 months had 3rd inj wiring (& other 3 done), new EGR last month, boost sensor cleaned. Previously had new turbo (37K/2years ago) Pipe to turbo replaced, complete inlet manifold (40K/2.5 years ago).
Shows no fault codes, OP Com shows swirl valves operating ok.
Has also had a few good thrashes up n down the M54!!

My next step will be to get the injectors tested unless anyone can point me in a different direction. Thanks

Or £12 if you get the right part ;-)

    http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showthread.php?t=73584

Its caused by hot air going over the clip on injector three causing a bad connection - this modified clip gets around that problem!

Mine had the same problems and I did this fix and not have a problem since, do a search its VERY common!

the part number is an 8 at the end as well, not a nine as described!

About a 20 min job if you DIY!

is this description like a quick on/off snap!! jerk, then back to normal ?, i had this, lets say usually when driving between speed humps with normal acceleration, just get up to speed at around the revs described and a snappy jerk on/off. ????
i can only say it has always!! been the egr! i have had this quite a few times, i has been a sticking or partly stuck valve every time, once i had a little carbon ball that was stopping the valve closing correctly.

Checked the EDC correction this morning, inj 4 reading +1.2 so overfueling.
There is a sooty streak coming from inj 4 so I think its blowing back past the sealing washer.
Will have to get new washer and remove inj to invest further.
    Will update again later
