You need to explain more. What exactly have you had done.
Have they changed the manifold. I presume its the exhaust manifold. If thats the case is it the Lambda/O2 sensor that you need? This you can pick up from dealer or ebay but make sure its the right one for your car

The elobau sensor is the angular position sensor on the throttle butterfly. It sends back the position of the butterfly to the ECU which uses it to determine how much vaccum to put through the throttle vaccum solenoid which is pulse modulated. In addition the ECU compares the amount of air going into the engine with this throttle position and if the figures don't match it decides to put up the p0836 spanner code (I think).
I tried to get one of these but was unsuccessful and ended up getting a new throttle body (upper inlet manifold) from vauxhallworld parts which comes complete with this sensor and the MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor as well.

As far as I can tell the manufacturer does not sell this part directly and I could only find it as part of the throttle body assembly. I located some Polish and German sites with secondhand items, but none new - if you can send a link to what you believe is available I can check it out for you (family friend in Germany). The manufacturer has similar devices on the website but they have different terminations and I don't know how they can be made to fit.
Replacing the throttle body has given me 700 miles trouble free so far but I am reluctant to speak to soon as the problems have been very intermittent. Everyone says this device should not fail as it is not a potentiometer as some suggest, it actually relies on a magnetic field and Hall sensor to work out the position. Some people in Germany have tried taking these apart, but they appear to be encapsulated with resin inside with no way of getting in without sawing through them!

    Angry

hi, got exactly the same problem, spanner light on and limp mode, fault code is p0638. i can tell you that you won't get one in the uk without buying a complet throttle body, it's a dealer only part (unless you can locate a scrapper) and my friendly, smiling, money grabbing dealer charges £251 inc vat. i have had mine off and as posted earlier it's a sealed unit except a keyed nylon bush/connector, which i think has worn on mine and if i could get hold of one would probably be pence to buy, but you can't so it's £251, thanks vauxhall!!!!!!!!

i have searched on google and found the sensor on a couple of sites but they are in german, so if you know a german bloke or someone that lives there you would be able to get one no problem!!!!!!!!!!!

My German is not bad and from my research I could not find one for sale on a German website. I have asked a German friend to have a look and so far he has only found second hand items. As I mentioned in previous reply the manufacturer does not appear to sell this particular version directly.
Car is still running ok after replacement.
My problems appeared to come from the EGR valve which then blew exhaust all through the inlet which was in an awful state, so I would recommend anyone in the same situation strip the whole inlet manifold off the engine and give it a good clean as well as replacing the throttle body. It's a bit cheaper at Vauxhallworld parts and I must admit to also replacing both vacuum solenoids from vauxhallpartswarehouse on ebay which worked perfectly. Needed to be sure of a fix as engine death in right lane of 2 lane roadworks on m25 is somewhat terrifying!! Message is at the moment that this problem can be fixed!
