    Default more mpg for 40p

    well i blew my tires up today they was running at 27psi and the car was pulling quite badly but i blew my tires upto 39psi and it rides smoother doesnt pull anymore and my mpg has gone from 34/35mpg to 38/39mpg around town really impressed!!!!

    Good move, but i would say 39psi is a touch too high. 36 psi is about right.

    what psi should i stick in 16 inch tyres?

    depends what engine you have, probably the V6 needs the most psi.
    wouldn't overinflate from what it says in the handbook though -- you might get more mpg from overinflated tyres, but you'll also wear them out quickly - maybe costing more in the long run.

    If it's on 19's and its a 1.9 150, 39psi front and 36psi rear is the correct tyre pressure.

    (Also depends on Saloon/Hatch/Estate... Up to 3 pax or over 3 pax and engine size but typically 32 or 33 front and rear saloon/hatch except large engines)

    book says for 19's 41psi front and 39psi rear, but i but 39 in both, doesnt look over inflated

    Thats how people underinflate tyres, they "think" 40psi is too much
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Sounds a little high on the pressure front, you could cause excessive wear to your tyres, thereby killing any saving you may have made on fuel economy.

    Mine are 33 all round, thats on a 1.9CDTI 150 SRI
