    Default HID fog lights

well after fitting my HID's this week i am so impressed that im going to get some fogs to match, (i hate the fact the lights are now white but the fogs are yellow) so before i order a set could someone please confirm if the fog lights are a H1 bulb, and is there anything different than fitting them to the headlights,
just to add i dont drive with my fogs on all the time but there are alot of country roads round here and i do use them when driving down a dark country road at night usually late and there are no other cars around,

Now that you've fitted HIDs, you won't need to use your fogs. I switched my front fogs on the other evening to check the bulbs were still working and couldn't even see them as the HIDs just drowned them out. Had to get out the car in the end and physically check the bulbs were ok - christ knows why though as that's what the bulb failure system is for.

As said - H3. The Vec-B was the same as well.

No offence, but is sounds like you're just wanting styling over practicality. There is no other reason to be wanting to fit HIDs to fog lights other than that.

Your HID headlights should provide more than enough light to see where you're going along country roads without the need to switch the fogs on as well.
ps, if traffic does come the other way, do you turn them off momentarily until they've passed?
pps, £40 or £60 fine from the boys in blue for incorrect use of fogs lights - ie, causing undue dazzle as visibility is greater than 100 mtrs.

well i drove down the road last night and the HID's were that good i didnt need to use the fogs, so i wont be fitting HID's into them as there really is no need however i will be fitting better bulbs so i have ordered a set of nightbreakers for the mainbeam and a set for the fogs.

Hi there, a lot of sellers on ebay quote the bulbs in the fog lights as H3C, they are not normal H3 bulbs.

Please see link and scroll to the different bulbs. The ones you need are marked as H3C:

I have tried doing mine on e pre-facelift Gsi, but i get no power at all once they are connected. The bulbs light fine from the battery, but in the fog light circuit, they dont. Tried 'canbus killers' which supposedly sort out the problems of bulb failure warnings but they still didnt work after i put those in as well. If you get yours to work, please let me know.
