    Unhappy HELP Parrot problems

    Hi guys,

Fitting the parrot kit to my CD70, got all the leads (SOT, parrot etc...) everything is connected (i think) after following a brilliant How2 on here but when I call someone (or they call me) the stereo doesn't mute and I can't turn the volume of the caller up or down via the stereo or wheel.

What have I missed guys? Any pics would be great too....

    Cheers

sounds like you've got something wired wrong. What kit did you get?

Sorry managed to miss out the 'mute lead' that needed connecting.

I've wired it all up and it's working fine now. Only thing that is bugging me a little is that I was under the impression that I could control the volume of the call through the steering wheel controls and stereo control? Or was I dreaming this?

I'll get some pictures up of the setup tomorrow, dark now

you would need another box/wiring kit called the unika bout £140 which would then be able to put it onto the canbus, but you'd need to cut into the canbus wires and wiring it in yourself..

Ah I see, so I must have been dreaming people saying that we can control the volume on the stereo

I think there is a how to on here that explains how to wire the line out from the parrot directly into the CD70, thus mostly removing the need for the SOT-122 and allowing you to control the volume via the steering wheel/stereo's volume control. I printed it out in case I did that with mine but decided against it.

If the volume isn't loud enough, when you've cranked it to max on the parrot, check the default 'external in' volume level, as detailed in the audio manual for the CD70 (don't have it with me at work, but read it last night at home). If this is set to max too, then that's as loud as it gets and you'd need to manually wire the parrot to the 'external in' pins to get it any louder.

I have it installed and it's working, I missed out the 'mute' lead when connecting the SOT cable to the stereo.

I am under the impression that there is no way to control the volume of the calls from the stereo as there is no other cables that came with the SOT lead to allow me to do this.

However, not too fussed because I can turn it up and down on the LCD screen and that works a treat

Which model parrott did you get? There are some adaptors on eBay for this but not sure how good they are. I went with the 9200 which works just fine.
